Welcome to the Osgood Elementary School PTO! Here you will learn about all of the wonderful things parents and teachers do to enrich the educational experiences of the children at Osgood.
What is the PTO?
We are a local Parent Teacher Organization that is organized by interested parents and teachers. ALL PARENTS ARE MEMBERS. Unlike PTAs, we do not collect dues or report to a national organization. PTO is a formal group of parents and teachers that volunteer their time for the benefit of the students, staff and school as a whole. Being active in your child’s elementary school can be seen as critical to their success and besides, it’s a great way to stay involved during the school year. All parents and teachers/staff are welcome at monthly PTO meetings. Childcare is provided!
Our Mission
What We Do
The PTO provides two book fairs twice a year, provide meals to teachers during conferences, organize a Santa event and buy presents for each teacher/classroom, organize student and family night events, sponsor speakers/shows for students to enjoy, organizes the yearbook, sponsors field trips, provide money for staff and students needs as requested, and much, much more.
Fund Drives
PTO members coordinate one main fundraiser at the beginning of the year. We also organize two book fairs at the school during conference time. Dine to donate nights at local restaurants are a hit! Throughout the year, we have continual fundraising opportunities by collecting Box Tops, using smile.amazon.com, MORE rewards, and Coke Rewards. All of the money raised goes towards enhancing the school resources for students, events throughout the year, and the needs of our great teachers/staff and students.
Why Be Part of the PTO?
Joining PTO is another way to get to know your child's teacher better and some of the staff that your child interacts with on a daily basis. Attending meetings and volunteering at the school gives you time to interact and develop relationships with the individuals that are educating your child. Getting involved in the PTO is also a great way to meet other parents and form great friendships.
Meetings
Join us at our next meeting! Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday each month. Meetings take place in the school and child care is provided. All parents and teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend the PTO meetings.
